Hello everyone! I started my internship at Saha Information Technologies on 12 March 2017. That was my first job experience. In this article, the things I want to talk about are the values is really important for both professional life and just human being.

1. Have fun!
I am a person who thinks that everything is love. Love the life you live, the work you do, the food you eat, the code you wrote. If you don’t like them, these will return to you like “damn, again?”
What we are referring to as an internship is a precaution for students don’t be “like a fish out of water” when graduated.I have a single recommendation from all my friends who are looking for an internship here. The life in front of you will be yours. Do the job that you love, or love the job that you do.
2. Ask!
I can describe myself as shy in the first time. These may look familiar to you also. But in the working environment, you are greet by colleagues who have dozens of different dreams / lives. If all of you are a parts of the machine that works in harmony, I think the adaptation is more important than knowledge. Even if, you are the best in your field, you need to learn company’s workflow at least. If you are there for intership, that means your knowledge is limited. But is not that the purpose of being there anyway? You have to show your work and self-sacrifice for valuable information, industry experience, and the opportunity to meet unique people.
The internship may be a short-term adventure for you or start point of a long-term career, who knows. The important thing is how you spend your time there. So do not hesitate to ask your colleagues / managers who are working near to you, this will add a lot to you. It can offer you speed, self-reliance, and the most importantly pure knowledge in a very easy way.
There is a golden rule that I should mention. While you are working, all your friends / managers are working also like you. While you are trying to do something, you must respect them for using their time. You must not waste their time. This is the golden rule. You have to match the person you are going to ask the question before asking them questions. I want to give a very short example and clarify it in everybody’s mind and move on to the next part.
Question: It’s not working.
Answer: This is not even a question, please.
Question: How to use enums in Java?
Answer: Google!
Question: What should I do for running tests with parameters from outside?
Answer: From the software architects in the company, to any colleague who have implemented this type of task on their project, everyone may answer this type of question according to the their availability.
Maybe some of my friends’ have a question in their minds which is “Can not this Google be on Google?”, I want to answer that. Of course, it can be searched and found from Google, but it’s slower than asking. Beyond that, a thousand different answers can further confuse your mind. But some of the questions can be answered with “I don’t know” and that is drag us to next title.

3. Search!
As we know that not every test will follows the “happy path”, so there may not be an answer for all questions in your company. Researches can open many different doors to you. You can solve something unanswered or unresolved issue in your company, then present what you achieved with a PoC(proof of concept). This will return to you in different ways depending on where you work. If you are looking for satisfy your motivation and raise the satisfaction of learning something, I can guarantee that, you will be satisfied.Sometimes the result of your research can bring you an answer, sometimes it gives you an opportunity to find out. Chasing down these opportunities will forgetting the fatigue of all research. Maybe you’re helping out with dozens of other people who are researching these. These people may be your friend sitting next to you, or may be another friend trying to learn on their own at the other end of the world. Next title is just for that!
4. Share!
It’s always better to share knowledge with other peoples. It makes other people better and also you can verify your knowledge while you share. Because you can do some QA’s or you can realise something while you are explaining. Besides that, it’s a wise thing to do. There can be many ways of sharing your knowledge, but simple I’m going to divide into three groups.
Face to Face: This is the easiest way in my opinion. It can be presentation for colleagues or just a simple chat in lunch breaks. Just want to do it!
Blogging: After researching, write something according to results. But if you want to write some technical article, it’s better to read some articles before you start to write your own. Keep that in mind!
Make it Open Source: You might be develop some plugin or tool after your researches. Why not to make it open source project. Also they can collaborate with you in that project. Spread the word!
5. Find yourself!
Internship may go as you liked or not, but don’t worry. Make observations, think about you and your preferences during your internship.
“Does this field suit me ?”
“Can I work in this environment every day?”
“What should I do to improve myself in this field?”
In my opinion, these are the questions to ask yourself. Because we all do internship because of valuable experiences and informations. That’s why making observations so important after your graduation.
To conclude that, I had great internship previous year. It was hard but I enjoyed every bit of it. I want to say thank you to all my colleagues and my managers. Getting valuable information and experience is not an easy task but if somebody wants to teach you something be thankful, be prepared for learning.
